Sorry for the dilay!

As you all know this was an extremely hard discission for us, as everyone did an amazing job on all of their layouts. We have however decided to give a 1st & 2nd place in each category. We have not drawn names out of a hat, but we did get a few more anonymous judgers involved, and the ones with the most votes goes as follows.

In the advanced category...1st. goes to Carolyn M. ( glitter borders) & 2nd. goes to Nicole (bff, sweet & sassy)

In the basic category...1st. goes to Sara ( the women in my life layout), & 2nd goes to Bev (Honduras)

Ladies you can pick up your prizes & your layouts Monday, or later. I am going to get the prizes all put together tomorrow.

We do thank everyone for participating, this was our first layout contest since we first opened & the response was amazing, so thank you with your patience. Next time I think we will ask you as our customers to judge your favorites.

:) have a great weekend.....and thanks again everyone.

Woohoo! April Kit Release!

One of my favourite days every month is upon us again. It's Kit release day!
Here are my layouts and cards that I did up with the kit. Very spring colours with the Basic Grey papers and embellishments. I hope you have fun with it!

Now for my last layout I want to point out to you the most awesome stamps I used on it. These are Glitz Distress Stamps. They come in a package of 5 clear acrylic stamps in the package (crackle, dot, grid, number and script). I used 4 of the 5 on this layout to add some texture to it. I use the entire stamp, I used the edge of the stamp, I used the corner of the stamp. When these arrive in thestore (they were supposed to be there for the Anniversary Crop....) and Kari sends out the new product email, you will want to RUN not WALK to pick up a package for yourself - and maybe even another as a gift. They are awesome for card making and layouts. If you want to ensure you get one before they sell out, call Kari at the store and ask to be put onto the list to hold one for you. THEN - I want to see what you have done with them!

Kari has the winners

I am impressed how awesome everyone did with the Surprise Kit challenge. I am not surprised. Our customers ROCK!!!! I couldnt decide, so I threw everyones name in a bowl and picked. Kari will post the winners.

I hope everyone is having a great day! I finished up my DT layouts over the weekend and I have to say - stepping outside of my comfort zone with paper is sometimes a good thing! I will be posting later this week with my layouts.

Happy Spring!

Isn't the weather finally nice?! Wow! I took yesterday (Friday) off cause I had to have some dental work done, and couldn't believe how nice it was. Crummy that I had to go to the dentist, but if the weather is going to be awesome, why not?!
Have you seen some of the new stuff at the store?!! OMGosh! Good thing I was drooling before I went in, so that Kari wouldn't have to clean up more of my mess when I was in yesterday. There's some awesome Maya Road sheer paper. And clocks (I love me my clocks!) And new paper lines.... Wow! Fun stuff! =]
So here's what I did with last month's kit:

This is our goofy cat. You know, the one we actually paid money for. I hear you can get cats for free... *sigh* He's such a goof ball, but a loveable cat. He certainly loves anything that has feathers on it. I cut out his name by tracing chipboard letters. I inked the edges with distress ink. And then added a little bit of pen work. I even used pop dots on a few letters to add dimension to them.
My only sister lives in Strathmore, and I don't get to see her as often as I would like. She was down a few weeks ago, and so I had

some photos taken of us with my mom. My mom and sister are pretty amazing... strong. smart. as you can see, pretty. Love them!

And check this out, a TWO page layout! Gasp!! LOL! I don't do them often, but this turned out pretty cool, huh? I punched out some of the circles, and used (more) pop dots to attach them. I seem to be using a lot of pop dots lately. A lot... kinda scary, really.
So my friends, I hope this inspires you a little. I haven't even put my stuff away from the last crop I was at two weeks ago. I've been a little busy round here... but like I said, I picked up some fabulous stuff at the store yesterday, and I'm itching to play with it. Have fun!! See ya soon!

~Ronni
p.s. I've fiddled with this post for 5 minutes trying to get the two pictures of the two page layout side by side. Can't do it... could ya use your imagination for me, and picture in your head how wonderful it looks the way it's supposed to? thanx!
and double p.s. remember, you can see any photo larger by doubling clicking on it. It then turns out HUGE! But at least you can see more detail. =]
