Happy New Year!!

I can hardly believe that it's almost 2009! Do you have any resolutions you're making this year? I resolved a few years ago not to make any more resolutions, and so far, so good! LOL! Do you have any big plans for this evening? We're going out with some friends. My oldest daughter will be 17 (gasp!) on Friday (yes, she was the New Year's baby), so we still have one more party after tonight.

Anyways, I wanted to leave you with what I've done with December's kit. Honestly, when I was finished, it was nothing but a few small scraps of papery goodness. One of my favorites ever!

So here goes:

This card is like the one on the cover of the Scrapbooks Etc. Dec issue. I thought it was cool that they used the same paper as what was in the kit... Total scraplift going on....This is an altered CD cover from 7 Gypsies, the plan is to one day actually put a CD of our favorite Christmas music in it.

This is a cute little mini album I made to throw our holiday photos into. And there's a college of photos to give you an idea of the inside. Please please please ignore the yellow tablecloth in the background! Thankfully, I've ditched it since I've taken these photos! LOL!And then, just some quick ornaments:

See, I told you there was a lot I could do with this kit.

So, all the best to you and yours! See you next year!

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!

I am off to Sask tomorrow to spend the holidays with the family. I wanted to stop by and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. If you are travelling this Christmas, please drive safe. If you are staying home, please stay warm!

I am very excited to celebrate Keely's first Christmas this year. It will be very exciting. She is going to join us for the candle light service at church (my sister and BIL alter Christmas Eve services with the families every year). I am going to sneek in my camera and hopefully be able to get some photos of her.

Don't forget your camera this holiday season! Try photos of:
  • the tree
  • close ups of the decorations on the tree and around your home
  • the presents
  • different angles - lay on the floor and take pictures upward of the tree, or of the presents instead of looking down
  • family photos both posed and candid
  • traditions of the season - we always celebrate Ukr Christmas Eve with the traditional 12 meatless dishes on the 24th since we cant all be home on Jan 6. My mom uses her Ukr table cloth, good china, and my baba's dishes. Each has a special meaning to her. I want to get pictures this year of it all.

See you after the holidays! Wishing you and your families all the best this holiday season!

Amazing Riff Raff Designs have just arrived...
Looking for that something special to finish off that christmas project....then you have to come in & see the new Riff Raff that just arrived. All the items are a laser cut chipboard that have so much detail, that it is almost hard to believe it is chipboard. Some designs are "Believe, Wish, Celebrate....in words, and then there is santas sleigh, reindeer, and a beautiful christmas tree"

One of our fellow scrappers shared this poem with us last night...she got it from Scrappy Do's, so i am sure she won't mind if we share....

Twas the night before Christmas, I'm glued to the tree.
I'm wondering what Santa brought just for me.
Could it be cardstock or chipboard or lace?
Or a Quickutz, I said, with a smile on my face.
And that's when i heard him,
"Hi Santa, " I said
"You know...good little girls
should be in their beds."
"I know I should Santa, And now i've got caught.
But I was just so excited
To see what you brought."
"Well, lets take a look
In this room where you work.
He shook his head quickly,
And left with a jerk.
I heard him exclaim
As he put it in gear.
"You've got enough stuff,
I'll see you next year!"

Santa does not know that we as scrapbookers never have enough....:) Enjoy the rest of your day.

Oh Yummers....the December kit reveal!

Oh heck, I had so much fun with this kit. The colours are so fun and versatile. I wish I had more photos to do more with. As it was, I had to call my sister with a specific list of photos she needed to take before coming up here on the weekend (for the Music layout). Oh and I made them go to the mall to take a Santa photo while they were here, so I could do another layout! Oh the things I do lol

Enjoy!

Do you have any old CDs hanging around?

We have a friend who needs to collect CDs for a school project. We wanted to do a shout out for her.

Do you have any CDs kicking around that you wont be using anymore? Old photo CDs that you have had printed, old bands that you will never listen to again, those CDs that come in the cereal boxes? Dont throw them out. Bring them to the store and we will forward them to her. It doesnt matter what is on them as they will be covered up anyway.

She needs 80-100 for grade 1 and 2 projects.

Save the planet. Recycle (hear me say that Shelley? :) _
