As promised, June layouts

Alright. I am scanned and stitched. I hope you enjoy!

Thanks Lisa for lending me your photos again for the Outdoor Fun layout :) I printed a colour and black and white photo in 8x10 and cut the colour to accent just a portion of the photo. I also used diamond glaze on the title words and water droplets to add dimention (easier to see in person - so stop by and say hi to Kari while checking it out!)

I have acutally added a photo of my niece to the Sunshine Smiles layout that my sister just gave me from last summer. I added it after I scanned ini my pages, so you will have to stop by the store and say hi to Kari and see it.

My GO layout offers a lot of flexability to journal tons along the right side of it.

My cards. The second one I left the sentiment area blank so you could add whatever you needed. I like to make a ton of card fronts at the same time and leave them blank like that. When I need a card, I am able to pick on that fits the colour/need/feel/occation (ie - bright for a birthday or thank you, subtle for sympathy or thinking of you) and add whatever sentiment I need at that moment.

Thanks for looking! Thanks for your patience!

I picked up my July kit yesterday. Wow! I can not wait to play with it. I have been unpacking my supplies from my mini crop this weekend with friends. While unpacking I have been organizing my scrap area (and by organizing, I mean moving stuff from one place to another lol). I hope to get my stuff done in the next few weeks. Cant wait to show you!

Hope you had a good weekend and enjoyed the sun!

Somehow I seem to be busier than ever before! How can that be?? Am I the only one? I've finished my first year of Optical Science... 79% on my final, and my overall grade is 82%. Yah me, not too shabby, huh? I'm glad to be done, and only have one more year to go. I start up again in Sept.
The last couple of weekends have seen us camping and getting sunburnt. We bought a new (to us) trailer and have enjoyed smelling like campfire and wondering how we can get so dirty.
So, ready to see what I've been working on?I love me my Timmie's coffee! LOL! By the way, I wrote "Obsession" onto cardstock with pencil, coloured it in with a black marker, and then cut it out.I embossed the word smile and some swirlies (is that a real word, and if so, is that how you spell it??) onto the background. Simple card, but I like how it turned out.And I take way too many shadow photos... I'm sure this is shadow photo #5 934, but it could be #9 635. *grin*
And this one is my favorite. I took a photo of my daughter's jacket tossed carelessly on the grass when the weather started warming up. For the background, I painted a small white area where I used Staz-on to stamp "observations" (which comes from a 7 Gypsies stamp set that has proved itself invaluable! Love it!!) Next, I stamped on butterflies (from Basic Grey) in white ink, and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. I did the same for the Maya Roads journalling box.
I totally loved this kit, and made up all the projects within a few days of sitting down with it. The ideas just flowed and flowed. Love it when that happens! Love this paper... it was fun and pushed me out of my box just a little bit.
But wait til what you see what I did with June's kit!! So much fun!!!
Don't forget that you can double click on each photo to see larger, and it will probably make it easier to read the journalling...
Have a good weekend!

Glimmer Mist tips

So I saw these online and thought I would share them. They apply for Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist but I think they would be for the ones we sell in the store as well.

**when you are shaking the bottle kinda hold the top and swing the bottle backwards and frowards
**DON'T tip it upside down dont shake it too hard
**you want to make sure all the "sediment" is mixed through but take your time
**when you turn it upside down or shake too hard you get either air bubbles in the spray tube which with make it spurt rather than mist or the sediment will get blocked in the tube and you will have to buy a new pump top.
**if you use the gimmer masks after you spray and lift carefully you can use the mask as a stamp, the glimmer mist on top of the mask will act as ink, you just have to put it onto a sheet of paper and press down carefully, smooth cs works best
**you can colour your prima flowers with it to match the colour you can also use the left over on your mat on the edge of the flowers to get a two tone effect.
**if you want to get a marbled effect on a chipboard piece, pump on the two colours then pick it up and rock the shape till the colours merge.
**if you are using the gimmer mist chipoard shapes they are slightly embossed so once you spray them and let it try you can rub ink over the embossed bits to highlight them
**dont squirt the spray think of car painting and use even strokes of spray to get a "mist" effect.
