A Year of Challenges #1

Distress your pattern paper

On the following layout, I used the Glitz Design Distress stamps (I heart these stampes! You get 4 in the package - dots, numbers, grid and script writing) to grunge up the Basic Grey papers. It tones down the bright colours a bit and adds some texture to it.

Some other ideas to distress your paper
  • crumple and then sand the ridges and then ink with brown or black
  • sand the edges to take off some colour
  • rip and tear
  • use a distressing tool to rough up the edges
  • ink a simple edge
  • use a rough paint brush or old toothbrush and smack the paper with it to add some texture
  • use an old toothbrush and flick paint onto your paper to get a random look
